N°72 ANTI-PIGMENTATION SERUM

Tranexamic acid was discovered in the 1950s by a famous Japanese female medical scientist named Utako Okamoto and was initially used as a powerful drug to stop bleeding after childbirth. When in the 1970s scientists proved the ability of this acid to cope with pigmentation irregularities, we added this tranexamic acid-based serum to our collection.

Tranexamic acid targets pigmentation and uneven spots on the skin which may be related to sun exposure, hormonal changes, post-acne or post-trauma. We wanted to create a synergistic effect by adding niacinamide (vitamin B3), which can help increase skin elasticity and has skin smoothing and moisturising properties. The serum contains arbutin, a powerful ingredient which is said to inhibit melanin production leading to the appearance of faded dark spots and helping to achieve a more even, brighter skin tone.

We have also added tocopherol along with astaxanthin, which is regarded as the most potent natural antioxidant. These are used in combination with lactic acid to provide the serum with the ability to achieve a long-lasting evening of skin tone and assist in the recovery of the skin barrier function.

The serum is easily absorbed by the skin. The three key ingredients - tranexamic acid, niacinamide and arbutin work in synergy to help even the skin tone, minimise and prevent pigmentation and deliver an antioxidant effect.
